Athenian Schools Launches “Parent University” to Empower Families in Learning at Home

Athenian Schools has announced the launch of Parent University, an innovative new initiative designed to strengthen the partnership between educators and families. The program empowers parents to become active partners in their child’s education by providing them with curated tools, guides, and on-demand learning resources to support at-home learning.

“At Athenian Schools, we believe that education works best when parents are part of the process,” said Jared Ferguson, Superintendent of Athenian Schools. “Parent University reflects our deep commitment to empowering families with the knowledge, confidence, and tools they need to make learning a meaningful part of everyday life. When parents and schools work together, students don’t just learn more,  they thrive.”

Parent University serves as a digital resource hub for Athenian families, featuring expert-curated videos, guides, and downloadable materials created by Athenian educators and trusted educational partners. The goal is to make learning accessible, engaging, and family-friendly, extending the Athenian classroom experience into the home.

The platform focuses on core academic support and enrichment learning, giving parents easy access to materials that complement classroom instruction. From literacy and math foundations to social-emotional learning, Parent University helps parents confidently reinforce key skills while fostering curiosity and independence in their children.

Pam Larmouth, Academic Director at Athenian Schools, emphasized the program’s alignment with Athenian’s academic vision:

Parent University is designed primarily for Athenian Schools families. Some resources will be open to the public, while others will require login access to ensure alignment with classroom instruction and licensing guidelines. Each resource will include clear directions to help parents easily access and apply materials.
